Soleil leaping
Another image from the recent contemporary dance shoot.
I’ve nearly finished editing the images from this shoot. I’m hoping to have then all done by the end of today so I can go out tonight and shoot with a clean slate. I’m doing a photowalk along the southbank tonight and I’m rather hoping that the rain holds off.
The dance studio had a very dark wall at the back and a fairly dark floor. I knew I couldn’t get a perfectly white background in camera but had intended to push the background to white in post. When I saw the sploches on the wall and the hint of floor I decided I liked them more than a plain white background. I also really liked the etherial shadow of Soleil’s feet in the foreground and her wild hair – It just does that!
Lighting Info: Two Elinchrom heads in 80cm softboxes at about 45° on the background. One 580EX II high and behind model sitting in a stage spotlight. You can just see the stage light in the top of the frame. All triggered with RF-602 wireless.
